Our Helper Our God

Matthew 26:39 – And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.

Help is a very difficult subject, and the only reason being, because many are too embarrassed to even ask for help. Our generation has made accepting help a form of weakness and that you’re not good enough, rather than being a human with flaws and needs. We are all humans and because of this we all have weaknesses which means, at times, all of us will need help for something. This is because God has made it so; in the Word of God it says that, “He is made strong in our weakness.” If we were all strong, God would never be able to show His strength, because pride would overtake all of our actions.

Matthew 26:39 is a passage that shows that even Jesus asked His Father in heaven to deliver Him from the cup (His crucifiction). He ended with, “your will be done rather than mine,” though. During the time of His temptation with the devil, He used the Word of God for help to have victory over the devil. When He fed the 5000, He prayed for help to the Father to bless the food and feed the crowd,God listened to the prayer of His Son, and the crowd was fed.

I want you to realize something – even Jesus Christ Himself needed help, so how much more do we? If Jesus asked for help, if the only begotten son of God asked for help, then we need help as well, to get through this life. Let’s no longer be embarrassed but realize we need to ask for help, for we are created and formed needing help.

God Is Able To Help

Psalms 54:4 – Behold, God is mine helper: the Lord is with them that uphold my soul.

Psalms 40:17 – But I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinketh upon me: thou art my help and my deliverer; make no tarrying, O my God.

Jeremiah 33:3 – Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

King David, the leader to his people and the nation of Israel, even said that God was his helper. He himself said that he was poor and needy, but yet the Father thinks of him, and that God is his helper and deliverer. Amazing! Here is this king, someone that has all at his fingertips, and even so he knew that he needed a helper, a deliverer of his soul. Someone to help him in his weakness and needs.

If a king required help and was willing to humble himself to ask for it, why not us? What makes us better than a king or better than Jesus Christ himself?

In Jeremiah 33, the Lord says, ‘call unto Him and He will answer and He will show you mighty things which you did not know.’ It shows here that not only does God come to help, but He also reveals (helps with) more than we ask for. That is because our Father in heaven loves you and I and wants to bless us when we are willing to humble ourselves in front of Him.

God is your helper and mine. He is the one that will step in to give you the courage and strength to overcome all things. He is the one that will give you comfort and joy in times of trouble and hardship. Our Lord and Savior will be able to help you in your time of need; all we need to do is come to Him and ask for His help and He will deliver you, set you free, and give you strength for whatever problem you might have or be in.

With God All Things Are Possible

Philippians 4:13 – I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Psalms 121:1-2 – (A Song of degrees.) I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.

1 Samuel 7:12 – Then Samuel took a stone, and set it between Mizpeh and Shen, and called the name of it Ebenezer, saying, Hitherto hath the LORD helped us.

If we allow Christ to live through us, all things are possible because He helps us by giving us the strength to go forward. The psalmist says so beautifully, ‘I lift my eyes unto the hills where my help comes from, my help comes from the Lord which made heaven and earth.’ The creator of the universe, the creator of all things, loves you so much that He is stretching His arms out to help you.

We see here King David asking for help, and when we look further in the Word of God we will see that Abraham, Moses, Jeremiah, Samuel, Saul, Gideon, Joshua, Daniel, and many other well-known people who had a big impact on God’s kingdom asked for help from God. Let us realize that we need it too. Let’s humble ourselves in front of God and ask for His help.

When we do, we will receive the power to do all things through Christ, our Lord.

You Can Stand Firm With God’s Help

Psalms 46:1-3 – (To the chief Musician for the sons of Korah, A Song upon Alamoth.) God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.

Hebrews 4:15-16 – For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Romans 8:26 – Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

John 14:26 – But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

David writes here that God is his refuge and strength; he is also our help and, because of this, we have nothing to fear for God is on our side. Even when the mountains fall into the midst of the sea and the earth moves and waters roar and are troubled, we will not fear for God is our help.

Jesus Christ is a refuge, as David says, but He can also truly be your helper in the time of need. Hebrew 4 tells us this is true because He truly know what you are going through. Because He was tempted like us, but without sin, He knows how to conquer sin, temptation, problems, situations, trials, and tests in life.

And when we think about it, everything hard we go through in our life comes from a test, problem, situation, or temptation due to friends’ and family’s peer pressure or from hatred or from what is pleasing to others.

But with Christ we can be overcomers, remember that. How is this possible? Because He has put His Holy Spirit in us. John 14 tells us that the Father sent the Holy Ghost which is our comforter, helper, and advocate. He will teach us all things. Romans 8 says that the Spirit also helps us in our infirmities when we don’t know how to pray or what words to use, He will make intercessions for us, with groanings which cannot be uttered. The Holy Spirit will take over when we are down in our weakness, He will help us to do God’s will in us.

The Holy Spirit will guide you, He will teach you, He will strengthen you, He will show you, He will help you in all your weaknesses to stand tall for God.

Gods Family Can Help

Galatians 6:2 – Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

Psalms 34:17 – The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.

As the Word of God teaches us we are here to help carry one another’s burden and when we do this we fulfill the law of Christ. If you are here today reading this and need help please reach out to someone even if it’s not us, whoever you trust make contact and ask. We are brothers and sisters in Christ we are here to cry with you, to be joyful with you, we are here to carry one and another’s burdens.

This is a true blessing that God has allowed for us to be able to be there for one another, to help each other when our burdens are too great we share these burdens in the family of God. We pray for each other, we help each other, until the day we go home. This is why it’s so great to be a child of God, for we have access to His family and blessings.

Psalms 34 tells us that the righteous cry and the Lord hears and delivers them out of their trouble. If you have been waiting one week, one month, one year, or even longer, it’s time step up and ask for help to get out of your state of hunger, loneliness, suicidal thoughs, that abusive realtionship, depression, hatred, jealousy, anxiety, lust, addiction, or whatever situation you’re in.

It is time we see that many great men in the Bible asked for Help and cried to the Lord and the Lord heard and helped them out of their troubles.

Don’t wait another minute: today is the day for you to cry to the Lord for your salvation, today is the day for your freedom, today is the day to be set free of addiction. Today can be your day that you choose life from the one that gives it.

Allow your burdens to be carried by the family of God and make those burdens bearable.

Glory to God.

The peace of God be with you and God Bless!
